Today I’m bringing two rooms I’ve designed that bridge my bohemian style with a more modern one. While I do love the Jungalow, and I *am* a maximalist, at times I wish that my home looked a bit more clean— I yearn to have things more organized, and a bit more European-style modern. This kitchen nook would be a dream come true–boho elements I love like the kilim pillows and a moody pendant, paired with a classic tulip table and mid-century style chairs. White and wood–with a dash of print and pattern.

A bright and airy living room would also be a dream. I’ve designed this one with both modern and worldly elements to create a well-traveled feel that is also modern. What do you think? Do you ever wish to switch things up in your home and change the style a bit? I think I get these urges with the change of seasons…

@laura – i found the image here: http://treeoflifekate.blogspot.com/2010/10/top-5-hardiest-indoor-plants.html but i changed the colors an it doesn’t say where you can buy them. i’d recommend buying pots and painting them — or here are some similar ones on Etsy: http://www.etsy.com/shop/dachshundinthedesert?section_id=11527562

I just moved from a home that was very styled and now I’m taking more of the jungalow approach in our new house. I’m enjoying being relaxed and not so put together. Still modern but funky and cozy. It’s a great balance.

Love these!
I flip flop between minimalism and maximalism constantly. I love the comfort and warmth that comes from a bohemian pattern filled space but I also crave the clean hyper organized feel of a slate white room with just a touch of black and grey. I dig how you’ve blended the two :)
