Spicy sweet mixed nuts
These nuts are great to have around the house during the holidays. I make big batches and leave them in bowls around the house. Add extra cayenne for more kick, and mix and match with your favorite spices. You will go nuts for these nuts I promise.
What you’ll need:
1 cup raw almonds
1 cup raw cashews
1 cup walnuts
1 1/2 cups pistachios
2 egg whites
1/2 cup sugar
3 teaspoons cayenne pepper
2 teaspoons cumin
2 teaspoons five spice powder
2 teaspoons chili powder
2 teaspoons salt
2 sprigs fresh rosemary
What you need to do:
Preheat oven to 350. Beat egg whites until foamy. Add spices sugar and salt to egg mixture mix well. In a large bowl mix nuts egg mixture and rosemary leaves until coated well. Spread nuts on a large sheet pan place in oven and bake for ten minutes. Remove pan from oven and mix nuts place back in oven and bake for another ten minuets. Remove from oven and let nuts cool. Store in an airtight container.
