I don’t know when exactly was the first time I stumbled upon The Loaded Trunk. It was a while ago though, and I remember pretty vividly feeling pangs of jealously towards the owner, Roni. I wanted the shop to be mine, I wanted to travel and to work with artisans from all pockets the globe selling these gorgeous goods. Y’all know I’ve got a mean case of wanderlust.
All jealously aside, though, Roni has and amazing eye. Her collection of goods is deep and unexpected.
It’s not the same old stuff that you’d buy at an airport leaving tourist destination X. I believe that Roni’s selection of items are even special in their city of origin, not just because they look ‘foreign’ to the foreigner, but because there is thought, care and love put into objects.
She’s got an incredible selection of Moroccan pompom blankets in a wide range of colors–they’re not the softest blankets in the world but they do pack a nice visual punch and they have a nice weight to them to put over your duvet cover.
And here are some of my favorite pieces in the shop now…
Pillows and Moroccan pom pom blankets / Lobi stool / Vintage West African Indigo Textiles / Pal leaf lollipop mats from Oaxaca and Guerrero, Mexico / Wolof Basket / Felted Kazakh rugs/ Raffia woven mat / Moroccan babouche
Thanks for sharing your load, Roni!
