While photographing homes for, The New Boho book, I noticed that most every home we photographed had some kind of amazingly unique receptacle for salt/pepper/sugar/spice.
This one was foraged on a beach…
This one found at a flea market, and can be closed up to create a ball…I mean, how cute is that?!
I love all these teeny tiny bowl and teeny tiny spoons, yes? I think keeping tiny bowls of spices out like this somehow makes adding flavor to food even more fun. What do you think? Would you (or do you) keep your s&p out like this or are you more of a shaker type? Photos by Dabito, Styling by J. Blakeney

Ok, so now I MUST be on the lookout for some new receptacles! Thank you for the inspiration. Isn’t it amazing how simply putting an everyday item like salt into a container that you feel aesthetically connected to changes your whole attitude? Love it.

Being the salt-alholic that I am, there’s always a sweet little vessel on the counter with my favorite salt flakes (Maldon). At the moment I’m using a small etched glass bowl a friend gave me. I’m reminded of her every time I season a dish…

For my “gros sel” (not sure how it translates, I mean not the fine one), i use a jar that I got in Tunisia and a spoon from Japan. In addition to being pretty it´s also more convinient. And I love spoons.

I am really looking forward to this book! That first picture, lovelovelove! I find here in Ottawa we are still quite a conservative city and it can be difficult to find bohemian flavored inspiration in the mainstream channels because it’s just not popular. So glad for the internet & blogs :)

Seen everywhere this year are stripes, long-sleeve button-up denim shirts,
the classic rock’n’roll leather jackets, wayfarer shades, and any item of clothing that shows off the tattoos.
The pad is also fun since it comes in styles such
as zebra, cow, and giraffe. Here are some useful tips that can help you to
know which to choose.
