I’m always one to catch two birds with one worm, so last week when we had a few errands to run over in Hollywood, we took a detour to check out a few gorgeous shops in the Melrose design district that we hadn’t been to yet. I love finding ways to seek out fresh inspiration while also crossing things off my to-do list!
We were excited to check out Consort, the new-ish shop from the design firm of the same name. The bright and airy space, which opened at the end of 2015, is stylish and fun- with a mix of vintage and new furniture, art, decor, and pretty things for your table. Love the Memphis vibe and we were definitely obsessed with this kissy planter/vase from Lux/Eros!
Lawson Fenning is always a favorite stop for us when we’re in Silverlake, but this was our first visit to their new digs on Melrose. With two whole floors to wander, their flagship location is a bit of a home decor wonderland. Everything from handmade ceramics to vintage patio furniture, and beautiful textiles- all in a cool mid-century building with a view of the Hollywood Hills! While a lot of stuff is out-of-reach price-wise for me, I feel like I can always find a vase, mirror or planter that I can afford to treat myself to.
Galerie Half never leaves us wanting for inspiration- their furniture is jaw-droppingly stunning- the perfect balance of classic and unusual. We spotted everything from this crazy good arc lamp, to an armoire with a clock in it! And can we talk about this chair situation?
Of course, though it’s not on Melrose, we couldn’t leave Hollywood without a stop at Mickey Hargitay Plants! Their selection is great and the staff is always helpful (they’ll even take your name and call you if a plant you’re looking for comes in), but it’d be worth the trip just to see the stunning variegated Monstera growing up the side of their building!
Feeling the urge to take your own field trip? What spots do you head to when you’re ready for a dose of inspiration?
