Pattern by Justina Blakeney
Have you ever noticed that ‘critters’ seem to come in and out of style? Around 2010 everything had an owl on it, a couple of years ago you couldn’t go anywhere without running into a mini brass elephant, and last year llamas were enjoying their moment in the spotlight. Well this year, we’re noticing a more slithery creature showing up in fashion and jewelry and we imagine home decor will be next. We are love seeing snakes slither their way onto to sofas, pillows, and all things home decor. Historically, serpents and snakes represent fertility or a creative life force. The shedding of their skin also in interpreted as symbols of rebirth, transformation, immortality, and healing–and we can get behind all that. They also feel a bit dangerous and have a kind of “don’t f%&k with me” attitude that is resonating with me right now!
We’ve rounded up some of our favorite slithery finds! All these pieces are from our partner site, Chairish. What do you think? Have snakes slithered their way into your hearts yet?

Nope no snakes Justina, I live in the South! I see too many up close. :) How about lady bugs?

Nope, never! No snakes in my house! Shudder. I’ve had a real one in there, turned out to be a relatively harmless brown tree snake but it could have been a venomous King Brown. ( I live in the wet tropics of Australia. Palm trees, sugar cane farms, the Great Barrier Reef.)
Snakes just give me the heebie-jeebies.
