Jason and I are trying to get in some date nights while we still can, and over the weekend we went and saw Wes Anderson’s new flick Moonrise Kingdom. It was visually stunning–made me wish I could ‘pin’ snapshots while I was watching.
A few things that caught my eye in particular:
-the gorgeous lettering in the opening and closing credits–later I discovered they were done by Jessica Hische— no surprise there.
-the quirky 60’s sets and costumes–the film was set in the 60’s but also somehow they also felt anachronistic and as though they belonged to their own fairy-tail universe.
-hints of magical realism–like the uber tall treehouse..oui oui, j’adore…
Go and see it if you get a chance…
