Looking at snaps of our bed and bedroom from March until now. Funny to see how bedding can change the whole vibe in the room. I think my favorite looks are the Suzani bedspread I got in Istanbul, or the plain white duvet…What do you think? What is your best version of cozy? DOes your bed always look the same or do you switch things up?

My grandmother would change her bedding according to seasons and would change it twice during each season. I agree bedding does create the mood of a bedroom

i loved it with the white duvet, but i do enjoy the changing up of bedding throughout the year! it’s refreshing & makes each change of season a little ceremoniously official. :)
a luda among the pillows is also nice.

My favorite is also the first and last one! Normally we have white sheets all year but you’ve inspired me to change that…now adding “bedding” to christmas wish list.

I like the unmade bed the most. Super cozy.
Justina Blakeney says
@Tonia – yes– it makes sense to change according to season– of course, in L.A. we don’t really have seasons :(
@Victoria agreed! (Especially the Luda part) :)
@Nina Those are my favorites too.
@Julie that’s how it normally looks so Im glad you like it. he he .

The ever changing cosiness is fab – I love to reinterpret my bed from time to time by changing accessories such as throws, linens, cushions. Lovely!!

ah! funny to bring up bedding today. for a long time i had a miniscule hole on my fitted sheet. just last week, with one snag of my pinky toe that hole turned into a monstrous rip, so i ordered some beautiful japanese looking indigo DVF fitted sheets and pillow shams on gilt. Ive never strayed from my all-white cloudy bed, so i’m a little nervous but excited. they arrive today. we’ll see how it turns out.

@Igor I love changing out the cushions too…makes such a big difference!
@Dabito oh good– you’re gonna have to come bed shopping with me one of these days– I wanna go KING!
@Will Thanks love!
@SPYT I wanna see it! Take a pic and send link pleeeaaaassee sounds soooo pretty!
@Evasuejane – thank you!!

love your bedvolution! combining words just as well as you combine colors & textures! : )

I love the last photo for it’s peaceful vibes. Color everywhere is key, but in bed I find neutral colors promote relaxation.
I wished I changed by bed look more often, but finding a nice duvet more than once a year seems difficult and expensive, but I should try harder, because I love your bedvolution!!
Where do you find good duvets, pillows and other blankets??
Justina Blakeney says
@mari – good duvets *are* really expensive, which is one reason why I actually get them at thrift stores some time. I give ’em a good industrial cleaning and make them my own. Used Duvets are often softer and more cozy anyways. I also (secretly) hit up Ross for designer sheets and pillowcases– they have great brands like RL for a fraction of the cost…

Aha-thanks for the tip. I’ll be on the hunt!

So cool that they are mostly from the same point of view, you can really see the change. My favorite is the first one, great mix of pillows, color, and suzani bedspread!
