There are SO many great shops here and most of them are filled with things from artisans and brands I’ve never heard of–which is a refreshing change for me. Not to sound jaded, but in L.A. a lot of times I’ve seen stuff on Pinterest before it gets to the shops. Today I want to share with you a brand new shop that opened up just a couple of months ago and that is on the same street as the flat I’m staying on here in Cph. The shop is called ‘Black.’ At first I thought the name was hahaha very funny because of how white the shop is–but after a bit of research I discovered that the shop owner is ceramicist Anne Black. Silly me.
The shop is HUGE for a boutique, and has a gentle mix of clothing and accessories for the home. They had me at wildflowers and succulents, oh and those birdie-print pants, the Liberty tags, the candy-colored linen pillows, the yellow ombre dresser, that rug…okay, pretty much everything. As for that “I haven’t told my Garden yet” bowl?!? After too much contemplation I’ve decided that I think it’s for propagating plants?!? And the sentence is a cheeky reference to that? I dunno. What do you think it means??

The interior of the store looks so stylish too!

“I haven’t told” is from an Emily Dickenson poem. And I will tell, I am not complete without that bowl : )

ahhhh smart. I should read more ;)

‘I haven’t told my garden yet’, might mean that the owner is moving in house plants, so will be dividing her attention (and affections) between the established ‘garden’ and the new intruders inside! So long as the bowl’s owner loves both indoor and outdoor green spaces as much (weather in Copenhagen permitting!), then the garden needn’t worry!
I love the quirkiness of it I must say. Your posts are making me contemplate a long weekend in Cphgn! My neighbour here in Malta – who is Swedish-Serbian – says Copenhagen is her fave city in Scandinavia!

it’s SO great here. I highly recommend a visit!

Justina, thank you so much for your posts while in Copenhagen. I will visit Cph for the first time towards the end of June. I’ve been invited to a wedding. I can hardly wait and my boyfriend (who’s Danish) knows that I’m going to fall in love with the city and its lovely and diverse boutiques. Thank you so much for these posts!

Aside from the Emily Dickinson poem…I thought it might be a bowl for salad, and the eater may not have told her/his garden about all the lettuce and veggies that were picked and about to be eaten lol. Hehheee.

haha!! I love that interpretation!
