This will undoubtedly sound very familiar to some parents and totally foreign to others, but Ida has never, not once, slept the night in her nursery. It’s crazy because we made it so cute and cozy in there–but whatdyaknow she prefers to sleep in bed with us. Go figure. Well after over a year of this we decided it was time to reclaim or bed and we moved Ida’s crib into our bedroom–because she was REALLY not into sleeping in the crib in the nursery–like REALLY not into it. (so we’re taking baby steps, ya know?) The good news about this is (besides that we get our bed back) is that Ida’s tiny little nursery is now a bodafide playroom. A tiny bonafide play room but a playroom none-the-less.
With the crib gone there is more space for her to play, and more space for mommy to decorate, too :D. So we brought in the bench that used to be at the foot of our bed (that’s where the crib is now) and I decorated the wall with these fun Triangle Decals from Urban Walls.
They only took me about 20 minutes to install and I love the little pop of pattern they created in her new play space. I also like that that you can get creative–there are lots of colors to choose from and you can create your own patterns with these guys. Fun, yes? I’m looking forward to spending a lot more time in here in the Fall, sprawling out on the floor and chasing Ida around–who took her first steps last week. <3 (I know, I’m in for it now…)

What a cute nursery! Love the unexpected boho-geometric combination. And boy (or in this case, I guess – girl?), do I relate. My son is 7 years old and still spends a lot of his nights in our bed (which would be *all* of his nights if it were up to him.)
