I’m not talking about myself here folks (although I could be :P) I’m talking about a sophisticated color combo that I’m gravitating towards these days: black, white and tan. The combo caught my eye while I was shooting these black and white anemones and then I realized how pretty they looked off-set with the skin-tone layered into the shot…
Then I noticed a similar color motif used at the new Ace Hotel in DTLA. What say you friends? Too neutral? Or tres au courant?

I also just wanted to thank all of you who chimed in yesterday about the new blog design. I so appreciate all of your thoughts and kind words. I’m still meditating on the backsplash…I waver between wanting a clean ‘frame’ to let content be queen vs. a lively frame to fit my personality. I’m still teetering…so stay tuned on that front…

As I’m not the most colourful person, this really is my kind of combination. I have a lot of pattern in my home, but the colours tend to be more neutral (black, grey, white) with the odd bit of colour thrown in. Apart from my kitchen: that seems to be a riot of colours compared to the rest… Love that pic from the hotel.

My room has three white walls, one tan wall (it’s opposite my bed and super soothing to look at) and a black ceiling. So yes, all over it ;)

I love the colors and design along the bottom, which i just saw because i never comment and never make it to the bottom, but…..i feel the grey roof at the top is not an accurate first impression. it seems to be the only drab thing on here. just my opinion that it doesn’t reflect what the blog’s about. maybe it’s just my interpretation and should be ignored ;).
i love your ideas and all the inspiration i gain from what you share.
thank you

Throw in just a bit of brick red and I am in.

Love the new Jungalow look! It is really pretty, the plants here at the bottom are great.
I don’t think black white and tan are too neutral, the best thing about neutral is that you can accessorise with it, suddenly a great cushion on a couch comes to its right, and a bright bangle with a natural outfit too.
ps also love the quilty pattern at the bottom!

re design:
I say bugger the content (well….okay, it might be a bit important)……we want to see that personality of yours shine through – there are enough dreary-looking blogs out there.

haha! Well yikes I hope it doesn’t look dreary!
