As easy as PIE, but its a crostata!
I love this super easy dessert/breakfast treat. It is something you can whip up in a matter of minuets and impress anyone who happens to pop in for dinner or afternoon tea. Use whatever fruit is in season, I love this with pears, nectarines, and plums. All you need are seven ingredients and you will look like a pro in no time.
What you’ll need:
One pre-made pie crust (if you are feeling inspired make your own!)
Three large pears
Turbanado sugar
Vanilla extract
One lemon
Cardamom
Splash of cream
Greek frozen yogurt (vanilla or your favorite ice cream will do, but I like the tartness of the yogurt)
What you’ll need to do:
Preheat oven to 350. Thinly slice pears and combine in a bowl with juice of half a lemon, teaspoon of vanilla extract, two tablespoons of sugar, and a pinch of cardamum. Place pie crust on a piece of parchment paper. Carefully place pears in a circle around the crust leaving two inches around the outside. Fold and pinch crust up and around pears. Lightly brush crust with cream and sprinkle with sugar. Bake for 45 minuets or until crust is golden and fruit is tender. Serve warm or room temperature with Greek frozen yogurt and enjoy!!!
