Ida will be four months old tomorrow. My father-in-law says than in parenting, the days are long but the years fly by, and I can already tell how true this is. I’m finally getting more comfortable in my role as ‘mommy’ and can now read Ida’s cries and smiles. It’s comforting to be able to communicate with each other, and every day I think we learn a bit more about each other–which makes things easier. I’ve also begun to have fun dressing her–and she tolerates me pretty well.
Breast feeding has gotten so much better and I’m so glad (and proud of myself) for making it to four months. We have started to kind of carve out a schedule for her, and thus far night-night time at seven has been working out well.The nights are still long– she wakes up for feeding every three hours or so, but since I’ve gotten better at feeding her lying down and we are still co-sleeping, it’s not so bad. Somehow I power through my days and have gotten pretty used to it.
Trying to get work done while she is awake? That’s a whole other story, for a whole other blog post–but in the mean time I just feel so incredibly blessed with this little nugget–I must have been a friggen angel in my past life :)

Co-sleeping makes those nighttime feedings soooo much easier! For us, we did it until V started crawling, ’cause we’d wake up to her making her escape down toward the foot of the bed!
happy 4 months ida! i can’t believe it’s already been 4 months since she came into our world. :) it still feels like yesterday when we were all together talking about what her name might be, seeing her nursery coming together, you & jason’s big announcement… time does fly bu so quickly, but one thing for sure is that these pictures bring a warmth to my heart. i hope to see yoi both soon! xx beautiful photos shauna!
