I was at my parents’ house yesterday working on their kitchen table when (at first out of hunger) I noticed this bowl of fruit. The persimmons caught my eye and I thought about how kind of gorgeous they are with their jade leaves and the shiny, smooth orange hide. And then I saw that pomegranate with the leaves still in tact–and then it hit me how perfect these Autumn fruits all looked together–their tones, their textures, their subtle patterns. Do you ever have those moments where you just kinda freak out over how something as mundane as a bowl of fruit can be so dang pretty?!? Well I do, like all the time.

What a beautiful image – the colours of nature are stunning. And yes, I guess sometimes we need to re-look at the ‘mundane’ and discover the beauty in the every day.
